Orders and Shipping

How do I order test kits and readers?

For orders fewer than 100 tests and/or 20 readers, you can order directly through our website. For orders over 100 tests and/or 20 readers, please email us sales@aptitudemedical.com.

How will my order be shipped?

All of our products are shipped directly from our Aptitude warehouse located in Santa Barbara, CA, and are sent with FedEx 2-day shipping.

What is your return policy?

All sales are final, except in the rare case of product defects. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for more information about return eligibility. If damage was incurred during shipping, please contact the shipper to open a claim.

Product and Technology

Will insurance pay for my Metrix reader or test kit?

Every insurance plan is different, so we recommend checking with your insurance company directly.

Is the Metrix test result accepted for travel or other requirements?

Our test is a high-sensitivity Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (also called NAAT/molecular/ PCR/viral test) that meets CDC international travel requirements; however, some international destinations may have special requirements. Please confirm with the health authorities of your destination.

Is there a warranty for the reader?

The Metrix reader has a one year warranty. In our experience, each reader is capable of reading over 1,000 individual tests.

How accurate are the results?

Metrix is a PCR quality molecular test, so it’s much more accurate than antigen tests, and can detect infection earlier to allow for timely treatment. Nasal swab samples have a 98% sensitivity and 99% specificity. Saliva samples have a 91% sensitivity and 99% specificity. How do I dispose of my used test kit?

To dispose of the test, simply remove the sensor from the reader, and discard the entire sensor. Do not disassemble the test collector from the sensor before discarding.

Are the test materials sterile and safe to use?

Our Metrix test is manufactured under rigorous ISO-13485 quality standards and is subject to FDA audit, so it is 100% safe to use.

Do I need to store my test kit and/or reader at a certain temperature?

We instruct Metrix users to store their test kit between 59 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

For how long is my test kit valid?

Each test kit is marked with a Use By date, found at the bottom of the box.

Troubleshooting and Support

I don't see any lights on the reader when I plug it in.

The reader requires a 5V DC power supply, which comes with the reader kit. You can try unplugging the reader and plugging it back in. Also try plugging reader into a different outlet.

I removed the sensor from the reader before the test was completed.

If a power failure occurs, or if the Metrix Reader is unplugged while the sensor is inserted, or if the sensor was removed before the test was completed, the result is invalid and you should retest using a fresh sample.

I bought the test kit from another seller, and it is damaged or missing parts.
